What to Expect in Newly Renovated Cannes Film Festival Palace


The Cannes Film Festival Palace has gone through an extensive renovation recently. Everything old went out, including the seats of the grand auditorium, which have apparently been shipped to the Richmond, Virginia (host of the biggest French film festival in the US).

Looking at a slideshow published by local newspaper Nice Matin, the new palace went from bunker (its current non-flattering nickname) to spaceship: the entrance hall now sports an all-white interior somewhat reminiscent of 1960's futuristic designs a la Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" - see example below.
